My brother Barry and I were both only children – that is, he came along almost ten years after me and our worlds seldom touched.

Our destination was the Nande sub-tribe that lived on the border between the Congo and Uganda, specifically the Rwenzori mountain range.

I remember the excitement I felt, as a young child, when Christmas was near. Not only was there a break from school, but Santa was on his way!

I was a music major in college but never dreamed I’d make it into one of the school’s most popular choirs as the assistant pianist.

I have had many wonderful pictures from working in children’s ministry. Some bring me joy, some make me tear up.
